    INSPIRATION

    I get creative fuel from science, geography, music, literature, photography, and data. I also produce a public radio program called Box of Visions, which focuses on new and eclectic music.

    Provide editorial and content management services for news and non-profit organizations.

    • Serve as consultant on project to migrate NPR affiliate WBHM to new content management system. My role includes CMS training, news presentation planning, and topic aggregation.
    • Designed and developed student journalism website Topotheworld.org for Western Colorado University. Created UX, visual design, and content aggregation. Currently serve as site administrator. WCU now has user-focused website to showcase student work.
    • Created news website Tribalradio.org for Native American broadcaster. Designed UX and features for cultural sensitivity and accessibility. Trained station staff. Site visits now exceed 3,000 per month. Organization now has vital online news voice for Native and Indigenous news.

    July 2022 to December 2023 | Content Producer/UX Web Designer
    King County, Washington (Contracted through Insight Global)

    Provided copywriting and accessible UX design for large-scale refresh of public sector website kingcounty.gov, which serves 2.5+ million users.

    • Built more than 350 web pages in Sitecore 10 CMS following style guides and sitemaps. Rewrote complex content with focus on easy reading (8th-grade level).

    March 2020 to July 2022 | Digital News Content Director
    KSUT Public Radio

    Managed and edited all online and on-air news content for regional NPR affiliate station.

    • Created weekly newsmagazine, Four Corners Edition. Designed framework for modular news content with flexible wraparound narration. Served as managing editor.
    • Led 8-person team through CMS migration of KSUT.org. Created innovative news story presentations, site architecture, and taxonomies. Currently direct editorial and UX design. Site recognized with statewide awards for excellence in 2021 and 2022.

    Provided newsroom leadership for rural NPR station.

    • Assigned stories, shaped editorial strategy, edited reporter work. Produced daily newsmagazine.

    KBUT Public Radio

    Responsible for guiding content mission of rural NPR station through editorial, training, and program development.

    • Oversaw design refresh for KBUT.org. Added new ways to present news. Improved UX and mobile compatibility. Reversed downward trend in site visits and search rankings.
